How Central Ohio Pest Pros works
Central Ohio Pest Pros is a free referral service for homeowners and renters in Columbus and the suburbs around it. When you call or send a request, we pass it to an independent pest control company that serves your area. They contact you to inspect and quote the work.
What we check
We only refer companies that hold an Ohio Department of Agriculture pesticide business license and send licensed commercial applicators. In Ohio, a pest control business needs a pesticide business license from the Ohio Department of Agriculture (Ohio Revised Code 921.09), and anyone who applies pesticides to your property for hire needs a commercial applicator license (921.06). You can check any applicator yourself; our license guide walks through it.
How we make money
The pest control company pays us for the introduction. You never pay us anything. We don't do pest control ourselves, and we don't set the company's prices.
Where our information comes from
Our guides are written for residents and list their sources at the end, mostly Ohio State University Extension and state and federal agencies, plus the Ohio Revised Code where the law matters. The data figures are our own analysis of public data from the City of Columbus 311 system, NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information, the US Census Bureau and the Ohio Department of Agriculture. See the method.
What we ask of the company
An inspection when you ask for one, a written price before any treatment, plain answers about products and safety, and no pressure to sign a long contract. If your experience falls short of that, tell us at (614) 699-5527.
